It is a mixed feeling, partly embarrassment because I was just doing my job I was sworn an oath to do, and I don't like being singled out like I am some sort of hero. I certainly appreciate their kindness and appreciation.
It is disconcerting to me that some of those people admonish themselves for not serving in the military. I try to tell them that everyone can "serve" in some capacity or manner.
Well let me tell you that all Americans can serve their country and fellow citizens in some capacity and manner. I provide a short list below that I am sure someone could add to:
* Voting responsibly.
* Knowing about Our Constitution, how the Founders set up our form of government being a Republic, and making sure that those we vote for are knowledgeable and determined to follow the "rule of law".
* Government employees and those elected - serve our country by serving the government as long as their principle is "For the People and By the People".
* Supporting veterans and appreciating those serving.
* Be active in one's community. Be proud of your community.
* Being a responsible citizen and teaching their children the same with tried-and-proven traditions of moral and civic values and the principles of what retains family values.
* Ensuring local educational institutions are practicing the principles created by the Founders and teaching what students need to learn for a career and abilities required to be responsible adults. If you are a teacher or part of school administration - you are serving your country by ensuring students are armed with what they need in life, teaching them that intellectual discussion is important, and not social engineered claptrap.
* Coax those Americans, especially the youth who have fallen under the spell of Marxism through indoctrination and ignorance by enlightening them. Falling into their pattern of name-calling and anger, we should muster up patience to attempt to show how much better our constitutional republic is compared to any government system in human history. If we must, we should educate ourselves or for some reeducate. There is a vast resource at Amazon book venue in paperback, hardback and digital format.
Recently I published a "primer" that may be an aid. You can purchase it at Amazon.
Also, Tara Ross, the American lawyer-historian has published an excellent book explaining the importance of the Electoral College found at Amazon.
Tara Ross produced a video via Prager University, important to explain the importance of the Electoral College and what helped create our Republic to be the best system ever devised. In regards to our Founders, it was a creation of genius ....
The following is a video made by a Marine veteran and he talks about what I have presented here.
The best way to "make things better" in our country and reform our government back to the principles established by the wise Founders is to reform ourselves, our society and improve our culture by going "back to the basics" where character counts, not physical appearance or racial background. Values and morality must return in order to be a successful civilization, and that includes bringing back common sense.
Hillsdale College in an effort to enlighten more Americans as to how special our constitutional republic is, and can be if we eliminate Marxist ideology that has penetrated our educational system, a this link: (https://lp.hillsdale.edu/constitution-101-enroll/). It is a 10-week FREE course that I guarantee will not be a waste of time.
Is our government system perfect? NO. But it serves everyone's interest to strive to make it as perfect as humanly possible. We the People have fallen into apathy and selfishness - as Benjamin Franklin stated: “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
The following video concerns how We the People have allowed "dangerous" people to take control of our educational system:
Fellow Americans, we need to take back our educational system and ensure it is reformed because students are the future of our nation - any nation. Knowledge is power - and Marxists know that, which is why they suppress it and camouflage the truth. We the People must expect better by those that are elected - and those elected are only as good as those who put them in office.
Military service is not for everyone - it is challenging and can be difficult, and believe me everyone serving earn their paychecks. As in every community there are those that have fallen by the way, but it does not mean that everyone is like those persons. I just wanted to say that there are many ways to serve and be proud to do so.
