STRANGE SIMILARITIES BETWEEN LINCOLN AND KENNEDY


  • Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846. John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946. 
  • Surnames Lincoln and Kennedy have seven letters.
  • Lincoln was elected as President in 1860. JFK was elected as President in 1960.
  • Both presidents were concerned about civil rights.
  • Both wives lost a child while living in White House.
  • Both presidents were shot on a Friday. Lincoln on April 14, 1865 and Kennedy on November 22, 1963. 
  • Both presidents were shot in the head.
  • Both assassins, Booth and Oswald, was killed before they could be put on trial.
  • Lincoln was shot in a theater named Ford, Kennedy was shot in a Lincoln car made by Ford. 
  • Both presidents married in their 30s to wives in their 20s. 
  • Both presidents were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson: Andrew Johnson from Tennessee and Lyndon B. Johnson from Texas.
