Weapons of Choice: SIG Sauer MCX

SIG Sauer has prided itself in innovative firearms design and the new Model MCX is no exception. It is built with standards for the military, reliable, gas-operated, short-stroke piston system that is the first AR platform rifle that has an auto-regulating gas system which allows shooters to switch between supersonic and subsonic loads, or unsuppressed or suppressed operation, without manually adjusting the gas system. That means quick changes will not compromise its operation.
The MCX is modular in design and easily configures to chamber three calibers: .300 BLK, 5.56 NATO. The aluminum handguard is easy to remove, unlike the historic M16/AR15. It has a quick-change barrel system for swapping between .300 BLK and 5.56 NATO barrels. If you want to convert to to 7.62x39mm, just make a bolt face change. Of course, you can order the MCX in any of the three calibers mentioned.
The MCX is compatible with all Mil-Spec AR lowers, so you can upgrade the standard system with an MCX upper and a SIG MCX Stock Kit. Another thing that makes the MCX different is that it does not require a buffer tube, which makes it easy to install a folding or custom stock.
The MCX is bot right- and left-handed with AR-style ambidextrous controls: safety, magazine release, and charging handle. The magazine release is oversized for quicker manipulation for competition shooting and military use under stressful conditions.
The MCX is available to civilians with a 16-inch barrel, a short-barrel, or a pistol version with a 9-inch barrel. The pistol version comes with a side-folding SBX Pistol-Stabilizing Brace.
The SIG MCX Carbine has a MSRP of $1,866 and the variant and Pistol with the brace for $2,058 and $2,132.
