THE GREAT LIBRARY OF ALEXANDRIA

Historians through the ages have been appalled of the loss of the contents of the great Library of Alexandria. During the Renaissance period of world history, a list was made of wonders of the ancient world totally to seven dating from the 2nd to the 1st century BC. That list is: the Great Pyramid of Giza (only one still standing and oldest), the Colossus of Rhodes, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Temple of Artemis, Gardens of Babylon, and the Statue of Zeus at Olympia. By all rights, the Library of Alexandria should be the eighth wonder.

I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.” — Jorge Luis Borges

SUPREME COURT DECISION - LET THEIR BE LIFE

The Supreme Court has declared that life for unborn infants should be the law of the land.

Pelosi and comrades (and Marxist sheep) are outraged claiming it is a travesty against “democracy”. You Democrat-Socialists have been wanting a socialist democracy for decades, invading our education system indoctrinating our children and permeating our society and culture through their power in government to the point of insanity. Someone, all media talking heads, must insist the truth - our nation was NEVER meant to be a democracy. Ben Franklin was asked after emerging from the Continental Congress meeting to decide what government we should have and he clearly said: "A republic, if you can keep it"

"If you (we) can keep it", indeed.

RED FLAG LAWS ARE DANGEROUS & UNCONSTITUTIONAL

To be honest, political organizations like Democrats (DNC) and Republicans (GOP) are a means of gathering resources for candidates to political office in order to meet the extraordinary expense of campaigning. Although I have since Ronald Reagan was president and began listening to Rush Limbaugh on Armed Forces radio and television while assigned to NATO LSE HQ in Izmir (Smyrna), Turkey catered toward the Republican Party; I am only concerned with politicians that are constitutional heeding the wisdom of the Founders.

As far as Rush Limbaugh, I invite you to watch a video produced by Sean Hannity remembering the celebrated Talk Show host that so many Americans came to love. His legend, his legacy lives on in the form of Clay Travis and Buck Sexton who picked up where Rush left off. However, even Travis and Sexton will admit that Limbaugh was a ”once-in-a-generation talent” (Fred Jacobs quote). Travis and Sexton are featured prominently on the Rushlimbaugh.com website, which Premiere owns, and the site will stream their show and offer Limbaugh’s archived content indefinitely for subscribers.

But I digress.

MARTIN VAN BUREN BATES - THE KENTUCKY GIANT

MARTIN VAN BUREN BATES was known as the “Kentucky Giant”. Born on November 9, 1837, he grew to 7-foot, 9 inches and weighed 475 pounds. He was a school teacher. At the outbreak of the Civil War, Bates joined the 5th Kentucky Infantry of the Confederate States Army in 1861. His ferocity in battle and large frame gained him recognition on both sides, earning the rank of captain. At Cumberland Gap he was severely wounded and was captured and held as a prisoner of war at Camp Chase in Ohio – but later escaped. How such a huge man could escape unnoticed is remarkable.

After the war, Bates returned to Kentucky and joined the circus. While the circus was on tour in Halifax, Canada, he was visited by 7-foot, 11-inch Anna Haining Swan. After courtship, they married in 1871. The wedding took place at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London, England and thousands of people tried to attend. Queen Victoria gave the couple two large diamond-studded gold watches as a wedding present. In 1872, the couple moved to Seville, Ohio.
